Preparation
- Set out your shot cups on a baking sheet for easy fridge transport.
- In a bowl, add the strawberry gelatin powder.
- Pour in 1 cup boiling water and whisk for about 2 minutes until the powder is fully dissolved.
- Stir in the cold water, rum, lime juice, and strawberry puree. Mix until everything looks evenly combined.
- Carefully pour the mixture into the shot cups, filling them about three-quarters full.
- Refrigerate for at least 3 to 4 hours, but preferably overnight for the best set.
- Before serving, top with a tiny piece of strawberry or a little dollop of whipped cream.
Notes
These shots can be made a day ahead and stored in the refrigerator. Best consumed within 3 to 4 days. For a vibrant color, use sweet-smelling strawberries. Avoid fresh pineapple as it can prevent the gelatin from setting.
