Preparation
- In a small bowl, mix the warm milk with yeast and a tiny pinch of sugar. Let sit for about 5 to 10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the condensed milk, egg, melted butter, and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture.
- Add flour gradually, mixing until a soft, slightly tacky dough forms.
- Knead the dough by hand on a lightly floured surface for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until doubled, about 60 to 90 minutes.
- Gently press out air from the risen dough, shape into rolls (12 to 15), and place seam-side down in a greased pan. Let rise again until puffy, about 30 to 45 minutes.
Baking
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls until golden brown, about 18 to 24 minutes. Brush with butter as soon as they come out of the oven.
Notes
Store cooled rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Rewarm with a slightly damp paper towel in the microwave. For freezing, store fully cooled rolls in a freezer bag and best used within 2 months.
