Ingredients
  

Chocolate Layers
  • 2 cups semi sweet or dark chocolate, melted Good melting chocolate is recommended.
  • 1.5 cups white chocolate, melted Optional: use melting wafers or baking bars for smoother melting.
Peppermint Topping
  • 1/2 cup crushed candy canes or peppermint candies Crush gently to get small pieces plus some dust.
  • 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract Only if you want extra peppermint flavor.
Miscellaneous
  • 12 pieces muffin liners To line the muffin pan.
  • 1 standard muffin pan standard muffin pan For shaping the cups.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Prep your pan by placing muffin liners in a muffin pan for easy cleanup.
First Chocolate Layer
  1. Spoon about 1 to 2 tablespoons of melted dark chocolate into each liner, tilting and swirling so the chocolate coats the sides.
  2. Chill in the fridge for about 10 minutes until set.
White Chocolate Layer
  1. Spoon a layer of melted white chocolate on top. If using peppermint extract, stir it into the white chocolate first.
  2. While the white chocolate is still wet, sprinkle crushed candy canes over the top.
Final Chill
  1. Refrigerate until fully firm, approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
  2. Peel the liners off and enjoy!

Notes

Keep these cups in the fridge if your house is warm. For gifting, pack them in a container with a layer of parchment between cups to prevent sticking.
