Dough Ingredients
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour May use bread flour for chewier texture.
  • 2 tablespoons active dry yeast Ensure yeast is active and not instant.
  • 1 cup whole milk Warm the milk before mixing.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter Melted, for dough.
  • 1 large egg Room temperature.
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk Key ingredient for sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Enhances flavor.

Method
 

Dough Preparation
  1. In a bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it froth for about 5-10 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine flour and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the condensed milk, egg, and melted butter.
  4. Combine the frothy yeast mix with the condensed milk mixture.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until you have a sticky dough.
  6. Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until smooth.
  7. Cover the bowl with a cloth and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
Shaping and Baking
  1. Once risen, punch the dough down and divide into 12 equal pieces.
  2. Shape them into balls and place in a buttered baking pan.
  3. Let the dough balls rise again until doubled in size, about 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Brush with melted butter while warm before serving.

Notes

These rolls can stay soft for 2-3 days in a sealed bag. Can be frozen for longer storage.
