Ingredients

For the pears
  • 4 pieces Bosc pears Choose ripe but firm pears.
For the filling
  • 1 cup blue cheese Use a mild variety for better balance.
Optional toppings
  • 2 tablespoons honey Use lightly to enhance sweetness.
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts Consider walnuts or pecans for crunch.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Core and halve the pears, then place them cut-side up in a baking dish.
  3. Stuff each pear half with a generous amount of blue cheese.
  4. If using, sprinkle chopped nuts on top of the blue cheese.
Baking
  1. Bake the pears in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until the pears are tender.
  2. If desired, drizzle with honey right after removing from the oven.
Serving
  1. Let the pears rest for a few minutes before serving warm or at room temperature.
  2. Pair them with toasted bread, nuts, or fresh fruit for a complete appetizer experience.

Notes

Avoid overcrowding the baking dish to prevent pears from steaming and becoming soggy. Check for doneness early to prevent overbaking. Allow cooling time after baking for best texture.
