Ingredients
  

Cookie Dough
  • 1/2 cup softened butter Ensure it is softened for easy mixing.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Packed brown sugar for moisture.
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For flavor.
  • 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda For rising.
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt Balances sweetness.
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips Use semi-sweet or milk chocolate.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Mix butter and sugars until creamy. Add egg and vanilla and stir until smooth.
  2. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until there are no dry flour particles.
  3. Fold in chocolate chips. Chill the dough for 20 to 30 minutes if possible.
Cooking
  1. Heat the waffle iron fully. Spray lightly or brush with a little oil.
  2. Scoop a ball of dough (about 1 and 1/2 tablespoons) and place it in the center of the waffle iron.
  3. Close the lid and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Carefully lift the cookie with a thin spatula and place it on a cooling rack.

Notes

Chill dough in warm kitchens for better results. Use a cooling rack to maintain crispiness. Grease the iron lightly to prevent sticking.
