Preparation
- Heat a skillet on medium and add a small amount of butter or oil.
- Lay one tortilla in the skillet.
- Sprinkle cheese evenly over the tortilla.
- Add an even layer of turkey on top of the cheese.
- Add slices of avocado on top of the turkey.
- Sprinkle a tiny pinch of salt on the avocado and squeeze lime juice if desired.
- Top with a bit more cheese and place the second tortilla on top.
Cooking
- Cook until the bottom tortilla is golden brown, then carefully flip the quesadilla.
- Cook the other side until the cheese is fully melted.
Serving
- Let the quesadilla sit for a minute before slicing to help everything settle.
- Cut into triangles with a sharp knife or pizza cutter and serve with salsa or your choice of extras.
Notes
Do not overstuff the quesadilla to ensure even cooking. Medium heat is essential for crispy tortillas. For added crispiness, use a cast iron skillet if available.
