  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Not melty, properly softened butter is key.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg Room temperature.
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract Alternatively, use half almond extract.
  • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until creamy and lighter in color, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract and scrape down the sides of the bowl.
  4. Add the flour and salt, mixing until the dough comes together and feels soft but not sticky.
  5. Load the dough into your cookie press.
Baking
  1. Press cookies directly onto an ungreased baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  2. Add sprinkles immediately before baking to ensure they stick.
  3. Bake for 6 to 9 minutes until set with lightly golden edges.
  4. Let the cookies sit on the pan for 1 to 2 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.

Notes

Store cooled cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for about 5 to 7 days. You can freeze baked cookies in a freezer-safe container for up to 2 months. Ensure to label your storage containers for easy identification.
