Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 can Canned tuna (in water or olive oil) Well-drained
  • 2 pieces Ripe avocados Firm but gives a little when pressed
  • 2 tablespoons Mayonnaise or Greek yogurt Use whichever is available
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha or chili garlic sauce Start with a small amount to adjust spice level to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Lime or lemon juice For flavor
  • to taste Salt and pepper
Optional Toppings
  • to taste Chopped green onion Great for garnish
  • to taste Diced cucumber For added crunch
  • to taste Sesame seeds Optional topping

Method

Preparation
  1. Drain the tuna well to avoid a watery filling.
  2. In a bowl, mix the tuna with mayonnaise or yogurt, a squeeze of lime, a pinch of salt, and your spicy sauce.
  3. Cut the avocados in half and remove the pit. Scoop out a bit of avocado from the center to make room for the filling.
  4. Spoon the spicy tuna mixture into the avocado halves.
  5. Top with green onion, sesame seeds, or any toppings you prefer.

Notes

For best results, cut avocados right before serving. You can prepare the tuna mixture ahead and store it in an airtight container for up to 2 days. If the mixture feels dry after a day, stir in a spoon of mayo or yogurt.
