Ingredients
  

For the lemonade base
  • 1 cup Fresh grapefruit juice Use freshly squeezed for best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Fresh lemon juice Adjust according to sourness preference.
  • 4 tablespoons Rosemary simple syrup Make according to the recipe below.
  • 3 cups Cold sparkling water or club soda Add just before serving.
  • as desired servings Ice For serving.
  • as desired pieces Grapefruit slices, lemon wheels, extra rosemary sprigs For garnish, optional.
For the rosemary syrup
  • 1/2 cup Sugar Adjust down for lower sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup Water
  • 2-3 sprigs Fresh rosemary

Method
 

Make the rosemary simple syrup
  1. In a small pot, add sugar and water. Warm it until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Toss in the rosemary sprigs and let it steep for 10 minutes.
  3. Remove the rosemary and allow the syrup to cool.
Prepare the lemonade
  1. In a pitcher, combine fresh grapefruit juice, lemon juice, and rosemary syrup.
  2. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding more syrup if too sharp, or more lemon if too sweet.
  3. Fill glasses with ice, pour in the lemonade base halfway, and top off with sparkling water.
  4. Garnish with grapefruit slices, lemon wheels, and rosemary sprigs as desired.

Notes

Chill all ingredients beforehand for the best flavor. The drink can be made ahead of time without the sparkling water. Adjust sweetness based on preference.
