Frying the Hush Puppies
- Heat 2 inches of oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
- When the oil is hot enough, drop spoonfuls of batter into the oil.
- Fry until golden brown, flipping once for even cooking.
- Remove from oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Salt lightly while hot.
Making Honey Butter
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, honey, salt, and cinnamon until combined.
Serving
- Serve hush puppies warm with honey butter.
Notes
For the best results, make sure the oil is hot before frying. You can also try different variations by adding jalapenos, green onions, or spices to the batter.
