Ingredients

  • 1 medium Ripe melon (cantaloupe or honeydew) Choose one that smells sweet and feels heavy.
  • 4 ounces Prosciutto (thin slices) Rustic cuts are acceptable.
  • 0.5 cup Fresh mint leaves Small leaves preferred; tear larger ones.
  • 8 pieces Skewers or toothpicks Use for assembling the skewers.
  • to taste Lime juice or honey Optional for extra flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cut the melon into bite-size cubes or small wedges.
  2. Tear or slice prosciutto into manageable pieces.
  3. Prepare mint by rinsing and patting dry.
Assembly
  1. Slide a piece of melon onto a skewer, followed by prosciutto, then finish with a mint leaf.
  2. Repeat until all ingredients are used.
Chilling
  1. If desired, chill skewers in the refrigerator for 15 to 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

These skewers are best served cold. Keep napkins nearby as they can be juicy. For an extra flavor burst, a sprinkle of black pepper can elevate the dish.
