Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, allowing for overhang for easy lifting.
- For the crust, mix together the flour, brown sugar, and salt in a bowl. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles crumbly sand.
- Press the crust mixture firmly into the prepared pan. Bake for about 18 to 20 minutes until set and lightly golden.
Make the Filling
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs, brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla, and salt until smooth. Fold in the chopped pecans.
Baking
- Pour the filling over the warm crust. Bake for another 25 to 30 minutes until the center is mostly set.
- Let cool completely at room temperature, then chill for at least 1 to 2 hours before slicing.
Notes
If the top browns too quickly, tent with foil for the last 10 minutes of baking. Bars may need extra chilling time to firm up properly.
