Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cans sliced peaches in syrup (about 15 ounces each)
  • 1 box vanilla or yellow cake mix
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened (8 ounces)
  • 1 cup sugar (optional, if peaches are not sweet)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
  • 1 stick butter, melted (8 tablespoons)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 baking dish lightly.
  2. Dump the sliced peaches into the baking dish, including most of the syrup for gooeyness.
  3. In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese with vanilla and optional sugar until creamy enough to dollop.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the peaches.
  5. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the top, ensuring wet spots are covered.
  6. Pour melted butter slowly over the cake mix for even coverage.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 45 to 55 minutes, until the top is golden and bubbling around the edges.
  2. Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes before serving to thicken.

Notes

Tips for perfecting your dump cake include ensuring even butter coverage, using softened cream cheese, and allowing the dessert to rest before serving.
