Preparation
- Crush Oreos into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-top bag and rolling with a pin.
- Mix the crushed Oreos with melted butter until it resembles wet sand.
- Press the mixture into a pie dish, covering the bottom and sides. Refrigerate while preparing the filling.
Filling
- In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
- Add the powdered sugar and optional vanilla extract, mixing until no lumps remain.
- Fold in the whipped topping gently until smooth, avoiding overmixing.
- Stir in chopped Oreos, mixing in a variety of sizes for texture.
Assembly & Chilling
- Spoon the fluffy filling into the chilled crust and smooth the top.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.
- Before serving, top with extra crushed Oreos and whole cookies if desired.
Notes
For best results, ensure cream cheese is softened sufficiently and chill the pie longer if possible. Use a sharp knife for slicing to keep the slices neat.
