Ingredients
  

For the Cake
  • 1 package Oreos (classic) Can remove the cream or leave it in.
  • 2 cups instant chocolate pudding mix Instant is preferred for quick setting.
  • 3 cups milk Whole milk is richer but 2% works too.
  • 8 oz cream cheese Soften before use.
  • 1/2 cup butter Helps smooth the cream cheese.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar Adds sweetness and thickness.
  • 8 oz whipped topping Store-bought or homemade.
  • 1 pack gummy worms A mix of colors is fun.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Crush the Oreos into fine crumbs, leaving a few chunky pieces for texture.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the butter until smooth.
  3. Add in the powdered sugar and mix until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, prepare the instant chocolate pudding according to the package instructions.
  5. Once the pudding is thickened, gently fold in the whipped topping.
  6. Combine the cream cheese mixture with the pudding and whipped topping, folding gently to keep it airy.
Assembly
  1. In a large serving dish or trifle bowl, layer half of the Oreo crumbs at the bottom.
  2. Spread half of the cream mixture over the Oreo layer.
  3. Repeat the layers with the remaining crumbs and cream mixture.
  4. Chill in the fridge for 2 to 4 hours or overnight for best results.
  5. Before serving, add gummy worms on top for decoration.

Notes

Can decorate with candy eyeballs for a spooky effect; serve in individual cups for easier serving.
