For the crust
  • 24 pieces Oreos, regular Not double stuffed for the crust
  • 5 tablespoons Butter, melted To hold the crust together
For the filling
  • 8 ounces Cream cheese, full fat Softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar For sweetness without graininess
  • 1 cup Whipped topping or whipped cream For a light, mousse-like texture
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract A small amount makes a big difference

Preparation
  1. Crush the Oreos into fine crumbs. Mix crumbs with melted butter until it resembles wet sand. Press into a lined 9x9 or 8x8 pan.
  2. Beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla, and mix until creamy. Fold in the whipped topping gently.
  3. Spread the filling over the crust and smooth the top. Sprinkle crushed Oreos on top.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results. Lift out using the parchment and slice before serving.

Notes

For best results, ensure the cream cheese is softened properly. Press the crust firmly to avoid crumbling. Chill long enough to set. You can use any cookies you like for variations.
