Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter Unsalted
  • 1/2 cup milk Any type of milk
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup peanut butter Creamy or crunchy
  • 3 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Optional Add-ins
  • 1 pinch flaky salt For topping
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips Mixed in after cooling slightly
  • 1/2 cup chopped peanuts
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut

Method
 

Cooking the Mixture
  1. In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar, butter, milk, and cocoa powder.
  2. Heat the mixture while stirring until it looks smooth.
  3. Bring the mixture to a full boil and keep it boiling for about 1 minute.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the peanut butter, vanilla extract, and oats.
  2. Mix until well combined.
Setting the Cookies
  1. Scoop tablespoonfuls of the mixture onto parchment paper.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool until set, about 30 minutes. Optionally, chill in the fridge for faster setting.

Notes

If it's warm in your kitchen, cookies may take longer to set. You can also substitute almond butter for peanut butter or use quick oats instead of old fashioned oats.
