Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Lay out a sheet of nonstick foil and place an appropriate portion of the beef mixture in the center.
- Shape the beef into a patty without flattening it too much for juiciness.
- Top the patty with a slice of Swiss cheese then layer with mushrooms, onions, and bell peppers.
- Drizzle optional vegetables with olive oil and season before adding on top of the meat.
- Fold the foil tightly around the ingredients to seal.
Cooking
- Place the foil packet on a medium-high grill, or in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C).
- Cook for approximately 25 minutes, checking for doneness.
- Carefully open the packet (steam will escape) and serve hot.
Notes
You can prep these packets up to a day in advance. Do not add cheese until right before cooking. Foil packets are versatile; feel free to customize vegetables and seasonings to suit your taste.
