Ingredients

  • 1 cup brewed tea, chilled (green tea or jasmine tea) Use unsweetened tea for a lighter taste.
  • 1-2 teaspoons matcha powder Use ceremonial or latte grade matcha for best results.
  • 2-3 tablespoons warm water Should not be boiling.
  • 1/4 cup milk (optional) Use low fat milk, oat milk, almond milk, or lactose-free milk.
  • to taste sweetener (simple syrup, honey, or vanilla syrup) Add lightly to avoid overpowering sweetness.
Cold Foam
  • 1/3 cup milk or half and half Oat milk recommended if using dairy-free options.
  • 1-2 teaspoons sweetener Adjust according to preference.
  • a tiny splash vanilla (optional) Enhances flavor.

Method
 

Preparation of Matcha
  1. Add matcha to a small cup and pour in warm water. Whisk until smooth.
Building the Iced Tea Base
  1. Fill a tall glass with ice.
  2. Pour in the chilled tea and add your preferred sweetener.
  3. If desired, add a splash of milk for creaminess.
  4. Pour in the whisked matcha mixture and stir gently.
Making the Cold Foam
  1. Froth your milk and sweetener until thick and airy, using a handheld frother, blender, or shaking in a jar.
Serving
  1. Spoon or pour the cold foam on top of the iced tea drink.

Notes
