Ingredients

Matcha Base
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons matcha powder Quality matters; look for vibrant green matcha.
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons warm water Use warm water to help dissolve matcha, but do not boil.
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons sweetener (honey, maple syrup, or simple syrup) Adjust sweetness according to your preference.
  • Ice Ice Fill a tall glass for serving.
  • 3/4 to 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy) Select preferred milk for the latte.
Cold Foam
  • 1/4 cup 2 percent milk Cold to help with frothing.
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream Can substitute with sweet cream style mix.
  • a tiny splash vanilla Optional for flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Mix matcha and warm water in a cup. Whisk or froth until smooth and slightly frothy.
  2. Stir in the sweetener and adjust to taste.
  3. Fill a tall glass with ice, pour in the matcha mix, then add milk. Give it a gentle stir.
Making Cold Foam
  1. Froth the milk and cream together using a handheld frother for about 15-25 seconds until thick and pourable.
  2. Spoon or pour the foam on top of the latte. Admire your creation before sipping.

Notes

Use warm water first to avoid clumping and ensure smooth matcha. Adjust the sweetness based on preference. For best results, drink fresh and avoid letting the matcha sit too long.
