Ingredients
  

Cheese Base
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 1 cup shredded low moisture mozzarella For melty stretch without extra water.
  • 1/2 cup finely grated parmesan cheese To add a salty-savory kick.
Tomatoes and Flavor Builders
  • 1 cup crushed canned tomatoes or pizza sauce If using fresh cherry tomatoes, chop and pat dry.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced For brightness.
  • 2 tbsp olive oil To add roundness.
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, torn Add at the end to keep it vibrant.
Seasonings
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes Optional for heat.
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
Optional Additions
  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze For drizzling before serving.
  • 1 cup halved cherry tomatoes Roasted for 8 minutes to intensify sweetness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and lightly oil your baking dish or skillet.
  2. In a bowl, stir softened cream cheese with a pinch of salt, pepper, dried oregano, and a small splash of olive oil until smooth.
  3. Spread this cream cheese mixture evenly in your dish.
  4. Spoon a generous layer of crushed tomatoes or pizza sauce on top.
  5. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella and top with grated parmesan. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
Baking
  1. Bake on the center rack for 12 to 15 minutes until edges are bubbling and center is set.
  2. Switch to broil for 1 minute to achieve light browning on top.
  3. Let the dip sit for 5 minutes to thicken slightly, then top with torn basil and a drizzle of olive oil.
  4. If using, add balsamic glaze at this stage.

Notes

Use room temperature cream cheese for better mixing. Manage moisture from tomatoes to keep the dip thick. Layer ingredients intentionally.
