Meatloaf Components
  • 1 pound meatloaf mix (or ground beef plus another ground meat) Ground beef mixed with ground pork or turkey for moisture and flavor.
  • 1 packet Lipton onion soup mix Provides flavor and seasoning.
  • 2 eggs Helps hold the meatloaf together.
  • 1 cup bread crumbs Plain or seasoned.
  • 1/2 cup milk (or broth) For moisture; use broth if preferred.
  • 1/2 cup ketchup For topping and moisture inside.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Optional but adds depth.
  • 1 clove minced garlic Optional for extra flavor.
  • 1 pinch black pepper Optional for seasoning.
Ketchup Topping
  • 1/4 cup ketchup Mix with a tiny bit of brown sugar for glaze.
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar For a sweet glaze.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the meatloaf mix, Lipton onion soup mix, eggs, bread crumbs, milk, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Mix everything until just combined. Avoid overmixing to prevent a dense texture.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a loaf pan or shape it into a loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil.
Cooking
  1. Spread ketchup on top of the loaf, combining with brown sugar if desired.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  3. Let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For storing, leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated or frozen for later use. This meatloaf pairs excellent with mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or a tangy salad.
