Ingredients
  

Tea Base
  • 4 cups Water Filtered or regular water.
  • 4 bags Earl Grey tea bags Or 4 teaspoons of loose leaf Earl Grey tea.
  • 1-2 teaspoons Culinary lavender Use culinary lavender instead of decorative; adjust to taste.
Optional Additions
  • Sweetener of choice Honey, maple syrup, agave, etc.
  • Ice To serve the tea chilled.
  • Lemon slices Optional for garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Bring the water to a near boil, then turn off the heat.
  2. Add the Earl Grey tea and lavender. Cover the pot or mug to keep the aroma in.
  3. Steep for 4 to 5 minutes, or up to 6 minutes for a stronger brew.
  4. Remove the tea bags or strain out the leaves and lavender buds.
  5. If desired, sweeten while the tea is warm to ensure the sweetener dissolves.
  6. Let the tea cool to room temperature, then chill in the fridge.
  7. Serve the chilled tea over a full glass of ice. Add lemon slices if desired.

Notes

For variations, you can add milk for a Lavender London Fog, top with sparkling water, or play with additional flavors like chamomile or lemon peel. Store lavender in a sealed jar to keep it fragrant.
