  • 1 whole Pineapple spears, fresh, cut into spears or long sticks You can use pre-cut pineapple for convenience.
  • 1 packet Kool Aid drink mix, unsweetened (Tropical Punch recommended)
  • 1-3 tablespoons Granulated sugar (optional) Add according to preference for sweetness.
  • 1 cup Cold water Use just enough to mix with the Kool Aid.
  • 1 container or zip top bag Container with a lid or a zip top bag For soaking the pineapple.
  • as needed sheets Paper towels For blotting the pineapple before serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Pat your pineapple spears dry with paper towels to help the flavor stick.
  2. Mix the Kool Aid packet with a few spoonfuls of cold water in a container to create a concentrated mix.
  3. If desired, stir in 1 to 3 tablespoons of sugar depending on sweetness preference.
  4. Add the pineapple spears, stir or shake gently to coat them with the mixture.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes; 2 hours is preferred for better flavor and color.
Serving
  1. Drain the pineapples and serve cold. Blot lightly with paper towels to reduce juiciness if necessary.

Notes

For parties, consider starting with one packet of Kool-Aid for about 3 to 4 cups of spears. Store them in an airtight container and consume within 2 days for the best texture.
