- Cook pasta until just shy of al dente.
- Brown ground beef with onion, garlic, and bell pepper in a skillet.
- Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, sugar, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Combine the meat sauce with the pasta.
- Top with shredded cheese.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 to 30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let it rest for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Make ahead and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before baking. Can be customized with different proteins and vegetables. Store leftovers for up to 4 days in a sealed container.
