Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 24 pieces Wonton wrappers The square kind
  • 8 oz Cream cheese Softened for easy mixing
  • 2 pieces Jalapeños Fresh or pickled
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese Cheddar or pepper jack
  • 3 tablespoons Green onions Optional for flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder Or minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Black pepper
  • Cooking spray Cooking spray Or a little oil for the muffin tin
Optional Extras
  • 1/2 cup Crumble bacon For added flavor
  • Hot sauce To taste
  • 1 packet Ranch seasoning Optional

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F or 375°F. The higher temperature gives a crispier result.
  2. Spray a muffin tin with cooking spray. Press one wonton wrapper into each muffin cup, ensuring the edges stick up.
  3. Bake the empty wrappers for about 5 minutes to pre-bake and keep them crispy.
Filling Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, shredded cheese, chopped jalapeños, green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. If using bacon, fold it in now.
Assembly and Baking
  1. Spoon the filling into each pre-baked wonton cup, being careful not to overfill.
  2. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 8 to 12 minutes, until tops are melty and edges are golden brown.
  3. Allow the cups to cool in the pan for a few minutes before removing. This will help the filling set.

Notes

Serve with dips like sour cream, ranch, or salsa. You can prep the filling ahead of time and bake just before serving for optimal crunch.
