Ingredients
  

Burger Patties
  • 1 lb Ground beef (80/20) Good fat ratio for juicy burgers.
  • 1 tsp Salt Season to taste.
  • 1 tsp Black pepper Season to taste.
Cheese and Toppings
  • 4 slices Sharp cheddar cheese Can substitute with pepper jack or American.
  • 2 Fresh jalapeños Remove seeds for less heat or leave in for extra spice.
  • 4 pieces Soft burger buns Toast for better flavor.
  • 2 tbsp Oil For cooking patties.
Optional Toppings
  • 1 cup Lettuce For freshness.
  • 1 Tomato, sliced Optional.
  • 1 Onion, sliced Optional.
  • 2 tbsp Spicy mayo For extra flavor.

Method
 

Preparing the Patties
  1. Gently form the ground beef into 4 equally sized burger patties.
  2. Season the patties with salt and pepper right before cooking.
Cooking the Patties
  1. Heat oil in a pan or grill over medium-high heat.
  2. Cook patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or to your desired doneness.
  3. In the last minute of cooking, place cheese on top of each patty and cover to melt.
Preparing the Jalapeños
  1. Quickly sauté the jalapeños in the same pan after flipping the burgers.
Assembling the Burger
  1. Toast the buns lightly.
  2. Assemble the burgers by placing the patty on the bun and adding jalapeños and any other desired toppings.

Notes

For meal prep, mix patties and store with wax paper between each. Best to add cheese and jalapeños just before cooking.
