Ingredients
  

Espresso Base
  • 2 shots espresso Or 1/2 cup very strong coffee
  • 1-2 tablespoons brown sugar syrup Adjust for desired sweetness
  • 1/2 cup oat milk More or less to taste
  • 1 big handful ice Fresh ice recommended
  • a pinch pinch cinnamon Plus more to sprinkle on top
  • a tiny splash vanilla Optional
Quick Brown Sugar Syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar For making syrup
  • 1/2 cup water To dissolve the sugar
  • a pinch pinch cinnamon For flavoring the syrup

Method
 

Make the Syrup
  1. In a small pot, add brown sugar and water. Warm it while stirring until the sugar dissolves.
  2. Turn off the heat, add a pinch of cinnamon, and let it cool.
Prepare the Drink
  1. Pull your espresso shots or brew strong coffee.
  2. Add brown sugar syrup to a shaker jar first, then pour in the hot espresso. Stir or swirl to melt together.
  3. Add a big handful of ice and a pinch of cinnamon.
  4. Put the lid on and shake hard for 15 to 20 seconds.
  5. Pour into a tall glass, ensuring to see a little foam on top.
  6. Add oat milk slowly, preferably pouring around the edges to create a swirl.
  7. Taste and adjust with more syrup or espresso according to your preference.

Notes

Store brown sugar syrup in a clean glass jar in the fridge; use within 1 to 2 weeks. Shake or stir before use as cinnamon may settle.
