  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
Topping Ingredients
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar For dusting
  • 1/2 cup Chocolate Melted for drizzling

Method

Preparation of Choux Pastry
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, salt, and pinch of sugar. Bring to a gentle boil.
  2. Add flour all at once and stir vigorously for 1-2 minutes until a smooth ball forms.
  3. Transfer dough to a bowl and let it cool for a few minutes.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and shiny.
  5. Pipe the dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between mounds.
  6. Bake at 400°F for 15 minutes, then reduce temperature to 375°F and continue baking until golden.
  7. Once baked, turn off the oven, crack the door, and let them sit for 10 minutes.
Filling and Serving
  1. Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
  2. Poke small holes in the baked puffs to release steam, then fill with whipped cream.
  3. Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle melted chocolate before serving.

Notes

For best results, fill the puffs just before serving to maintain crispness. You can freeze unfilled shells for later use.
