Ingredients
  

Smoothie Base
  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries (or frozen blueberries)
  • 1 small frozen banana (optional) Makes it creamier
  • 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt or kefir Protein boost
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup milk or unsweetened almond milk Use less for thicker consistency
  • big pinch cinnamon
Toppings
  • 1/2 cup sliced strawberries or extra berries
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons granola Just enough for crunch
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin seeds or chopped walnuts
  • 1 tablespoon shredded coconut (optional)
  • to taste nut butter Drizzle if desired for extra filling

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Add milk, yogurt, oats, chia, flax, cinnamon, and frozen fruit to a blender.
  2. Blend until thick, stopping to scrape down the sides once or twice.
  3. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash more milk.
  4. Pour into a bowl and add toppings right away so they stay crunchy.

Notes

Focus on reasonable portions and include protein. To avoid boredom, alternate with savory meals. Adjust ingredients to personal preferences, like less chia if needed.
