Preparation
- Crush the cookies using a zip bag and a rolling pin, or in a food processor, to create fine crumbs that resemble dirt.
- Whisk the pudding mix with the cold milk until it thickens, then let it sit for a couple of minutes.
- Beat the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping and then the prepared pudding to create a fluffy filling.
- In a trifle bowl or a 9x13 dish, start layering with cookie crumbs, followed by the creamy filling. Repeat layers, ending with a thick layer of cookie crumbs on top.
- Decorate the top with gummy worms, pushing them in to look like they are crawling out of the dirt.
- Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight, to allow flavors to meld.
Notes
Cover tightly and refrigerate. Best consumed within 2-3 days. Do not freeze once assembled due to texture changes.
