Greek Yogurt Tiramisu

Ingredients
  

For the Cream Layer
  • 2 cups Plain Greek yogurt, thick style Use thick yogurt for the best texture.
  • 1 cup Mascarpone cheese, softened Optional, but adds a classic flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Honey or maple syrup, or powdered sugar Adjust based on desired sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract For flavor enhancement.
  • 1 pinch Salt Enhances overall flavor.
For the Coffee Dip
  • 1 cup Strong brewed coffee or espresso, cooled Use a good quality coffee for the best taste.
For Assembly
  • 24 pieces Ladyfingers (or sponge cake slices) Use quickly to avoid sogginess.
  • 2 tablespoons Unsweetened cocoa powder For dusting just before serving.

Method
 

Preparation of Cream Layer
  1. In a bowl, stir together Greek yogurt, mascarpone (if using), honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Taste and adjust sweetness or tanginess as desired.
Preparing the Coffee Dip
  1. Pour the cooled coffee into a shallow bowl.
  2. Optionally, add extra espresso powder or coffee liqueur for a stronger flavor.
Assembling the Tiramisu
  1. Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee, one quick dip per side.
  2. Layer the dipped ladyfingers in a dish.
  3. Spread a layer of the yogurt mixture on top.
  4. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and another layer of cream.
Chilling the Tiramisu
  1. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight for best texture.
Finishing Touch
  1. Dust with cocoa powder right before serving to avoid dampness.

Notes

This dessert can be adjusted for sweetness and toppings, and is easy to serve in individual cups or a larger dish. Stores well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
