Ingredients

Filling
  • 1 pound ground beef, 80 or 85 percent lean
  • 6 to 8 slices cooked bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or favorite melty cheese
  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough or crescent dough
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: finely chopped pickles, a little mustard or burger sauce For added flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment for easy cleanup.
  2. Cook the beef in a skillet with a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir in Worcestershire. Drain the fat to avoid sogginess.
  3. Stir in the chopped bacon and let everything cool for 3 to 4 minutes.
  4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle. If it springs back, let it rest for a couple of minutes and try again.
  5. Spread the beef and bacon evenly on the dough, leaving a border. Sprinkle with cheese. Add pickles or mustard if desired.
  6. Roll tightly from the long side into a log and slice into 10 to 12 rounds.
  7. Place on the baking sheet. Mix melted butter and garlic, then brush generously on top.
  8. Bake for 14 to 18 minutes until puffed and golden. Cool for 3 minutes then serve warm.

Notes
