Preparation
- Toast or heat your waffles until they are golden and crisp.
- Heat a small pan on medium heat, add butter or oil, crack in an egg, and cook to your liking.
- When the egg is almost done, place cheese on top and cover the pan for 20-40 seconds to melt.
- Assemble the sandwich: start with a waffle, add cheesy egg and optional extras, then top with a second waffle and press gently.
- For an extra crispy finish, place the assembled sandwich back in the pan for about 30 seconds per side.
Notes
Wrap sandwiches in foil or parchment to store in the fridge and consume within 2-3 days. For freezing, wrap tightly and store in a freezer bag for up to 1 month. Reheat in the oven for best results.
