Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 cups frozen strawberries Fresh strawberries can be used if frozen beforehand for best texture.
  • 1 handful fresh basil Start with a small amount, can adjust based on taste.
  • 1/4 cup sweetener (simple syrup, honey, or maple syrup) Adjust to taste, especially if strawberries are not sweet.

Method

Preparation
  1. If strawberries are not already frozen, freeze them on a tray to prevent sticking.
  2. In a blender or food processor, combine frozen strawberries, basil, and sweetener.
  3. Blend until the mixture resembles a thick smoothie, stopping to scrape the sides as needed.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetener if needed.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a loaf pan or another freezer-safe container.
Freezing
  1. Freeze for 2 to 4 hours, stirring once or twice if remembered to maintain a smooth texture.
Serving
  1. Scoop and serve in bowls. Let sit at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes if too hard to scoop.

Notes

For best texture, use frozen fruit, don’t skimp on sweetener, and blend thoroughly to avoid chunks. Stir occasionally while freezing.
