Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease your pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a small pot, melt the butter on low heat. Once melted, stir in cocoa powder and sugar until it looks glossy.
- Pour in the Dr Pepper and stir. It may fizz a little, this is normal.
- Take the pot off heat and let it cool for about 5 minutes to prevent scrambling the eggs.
- Whisk in the eggs and vanilla until the batter is smooth.
- Fold in the flour and salt until no dry streaks are visible. Do not overmix.
- If using chocolate chips, fold them in last.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 25 to 32 minutes, depending on pan size.
- Let them cool before cutting for clean slices.
Notes
For variations, consider adding more chocolate or cherries, or a simple frosting on top. Always cool the brownies before cutting for the best texture.
