Preparation
- Spray your slow cooker with a little nonstick spray or use a liner for easy cleanup.
- Lay the chicken in the bottom of the slow cooker, avoiding stacking.
- In a bowl, whisk together the gravy mix, cream of chicken soup, and broth until smooth.
- Pour the gravy mixture over the chicken and sprinkle with onion powder and black pepper if desired.
Cooking
- Cover and cook on LOW for about 4 to 6 hours, until the chicken is cooked and shreds easily.
- Shred the chicken in the crockpot and stir it into the gravy.
- Serve hot over rice, generously pouring gravy on top.
Notes
Chicken thighs tend to retain moisture better than breasts. For thicker gravy, leave lid off for 10-15 minutes on HIGH. Store rice and gravy separately if saving leftovers.
