Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F as indicated on the crescent roll package.
  2. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper to catch any drips from the bacon.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles. If the triangles are small, gently stretch them.
  4. Place a hot dog at the wide end of each triangle, add cheese if desired, and roll it up toward the point.
  5. Wrap each hot dog with a half slice or one full slice of bacon, slightly overlapping, and place seam side down on the baking sheet.
Baking
  1. Bake for 12 to 18 minutes, until the crescent dough is golden and the bacon is crisp.
  2. If the dough browns before the bacon is crisp, place under the broiler for 1 to 2 minutes, keeping a close eye.
Serving
  1. Serve hot with your choice of dipping sauce.

Notes

You can tweak these hot dogs with various cheeses or seasonings. They store well—refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for 1 to 2 months. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for the best texture.
