Ingredients
  

For the Spread
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 3-5 cloves garlic, minced Use less if you are garlic shy
  • 2-3 tablespoons chopped parsley Optional but makes it feel fresh
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Optional: grated parmesan or mozzarella for the top
For the Bread
  • 1 loaf bread of choice French, Italian, Baguette, or Sourdough recommended

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese and butter until smooth.
  3. Stir in minced garlic, salt, and parsley.
  4. Slice your bread and generously spread the cream cheese mixture over the slices.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 to 14 minutes until the top looks melty and the edges are golden.
  2. For an extra toasty finish, broil for 30 to 60 seconds, watching closely to prevent burning.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in the fridge wrapped in foil or in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes. Can be frozen unbaked; add 3 to 6 extra minutes to baking time when cooking from frozen.
