Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 6 tablespoons butter Use real butter for best flavor.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Or use 1 teaspoon of garlic paste.
  • 2 cups heavy cream Warm before using to blend smoothly.
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan Grate your own for best results.
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese Optional, but makes the sauce extra smooth.
  • to taste Salt Add to your preference.
  • to taste Black pepper Add to your preference.
  • a tiny pinch nutmeg Optional, adds a cozy flavor.

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium low heat. Once melted, add the garlic and stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Pour in the heavy cream and stir, letting it warm up until a gentle simmer appears around the edges. Keep the heat low.
  3. If using cream cheese, add it now and stir until it melts into the sauce.
  4. Gradually add the Parmesan cheese in handfuls, stirring until it melts and thickens the sauce.
  5. Taste the sauce, then add salt and pepper to your liking. Optionally, add a tiny pinch of nutmeg.
  6. Toss the sauce with hot pasta immediately. If the sauce is too thick, loosen it with a splash of hot pasta water.

Notes

For extra creamy sauce, use freshly grated Parmesan, keep the heat gentle, and allow the sauce to sit off heat for a couple of minutes before serving.
