Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2.5 cups vanilla ice cream About 5 big scoops
  • 0.75 cups peaches Fresh peeled and sliced, or frozen
  • 2-4 tablespoons milk Start small
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract Optional but adds flavor
  • pinch salt Optional, a tiny pinch enhances flavor
  • as needed whipped cream and a maraschino cherry Optional for topping

Method

Preparation
  1. Add the ice cream first into the blender.
  2. Then add the peach slices. If using frozen peaches, let them sit on the counter for 2 to 3 minutes so they are not rock hard.
  3. Add a small splash of milk, starting with 2 tablespoons. You can always add more later.
  4. Blend briefly on low, then medium, just until it comes together. Avoid over blending if you want to keep tiny peach bits.
  5. Taste and adjust. If more peach flavor is desired, add a few more slices. If it's too thick, add another tablespoon or two of milk.
  6. Serve immediately in a cold glass and top with whipped cream and a cherry if desired.

Notes

For a thicker shake, use firmer ice cream and add milk gradually. To lighten the shake, consider using frozen yogurt or Greek yogurt alternatives.
