Preparation
- Crush the pecans using a food processor or by placing them in a zip bag and rolling with a pin until fine with some texture.
- In a bowl, stir together the crushed pecans, sweetened condensed milk, salt, and vanilla until combined.
- Cover and refrigerate the mixture for 20 to 30 minutes to firm it up.
Rolling
- Scoop small portions of the chilled mixture and roll them into balls using your palms. If the mixture sticks, lightly butter your hands.
- Roll the formed balls in powdered sugar, crushed pecans, cocoa powder, or shredded coconut.
- Chill the finished balls again before serving to help them firm up further.
Notes
Toasting the pecans enhances the flavor. You can substitute walnuts or almonds for a different taste. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 5-7 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
