Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
- In one bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- In another bowl, whisk the wet ingredients: melted butter, eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla until combined.
- Gently fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined; do not overmix.
Baking
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Add the remaining batter on top and sprinkle more cinnamon sugar on the very top.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a tester comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow it to cool for a few minutes before slicing.
Notes
For best texture, use room-temperature ingredients and let the loaf rest before slicing. You can serve warm or at room temperature, and consider additional toppings like cinnamon honey butter or maple syrup for extra flavor.
