Method
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
- Divide the pizza dough into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
Assemble the Tree
- Start with a single dough ball at the top, then form rows below it with 2, 3, and so on, leaving small gaps between balls.
- In some of the dough balls, tuck in cubes or shreds of mozzarella for melty centers.
- Brush the tree lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Mix minced garlic, chopped parsley, and additional olive oil, and brush this mixture over the top of the tree.
- Finish with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 18 to 22 minutes, checking for doneness around 15 minutes.
- Once out of the oven, brush with more olive oil and melted butter for a softer finish.
- Let it sit for 5 minutes before transferring the tree to a serving board.
Serving
- Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping and enjoy the festive pull-apart fun!
Notes
For a decorative touch, consider adding tiny pepperoni or olive ornaments. This pizza can be shaped ahead of time and chilled for up to 6 hours.
