  • 36 pieces regular chocolate sandwich cookies Classic flavor works best
  • 8 ounces full-fat cream cheese Softened to room temperature
  • 12 ounces melting chocolate or candy wafers White or semi-sweet
Optional Toppings
  • to taste crushed candy canes
  • to taste sprinkles
  • to taste colored sugar
  • to taste mini chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Pulse the cookies in a food processor until they are fine crumbs with a sandy texture.
  2. Blend the crumbs with softened cream cheese until smooth and well combined.
  3. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined sheet.
  4. Chill the balls for 20 minutes to firm up.
Dipping
  1. Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 20 to 30 second bursts, stirring until smooth.
  2. If the chocolate is too thick, add 1 teaspoon of neutral oil to loosen.
  3. Dip each ball using a fork, letting the excess chocolate drip off before setting it back on the parchment.
  4. Add optional toppings before the coating sets.
  5. Chill the dipped balls again for 15 minutes, then serve or store.
