  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk One standard can.
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Choose a good quality that you enjoy.
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips For swirling or a second layer.
  • 2 tablespoons butter For smoothness.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For flavor.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances flavor.
  • as needed holiday sprinkles, crushed candy canes, or chopped nuts For decoration.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Line an 8-inch square pan with parchment paper, leaving a little overhang.
  2. In a saucepan over low heat, combine sweetened condensed milk, semi-sweet chocolate chips, butter, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Stir slowly and constantly until melted and glossy.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Pour mixture into the lined pan and tap gently on the counter to level it.
  6. For a white chocolate swirl, melt white chocolate chips separately, drizzle on top and swirl with a butter knife.
  7. Sprinkle holiday toppings on top immediately so they stick.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator until firm, then slice into squares.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. For gifting, pack smaller pieces in a tin with parchment between layers. Keep chilled.
