  • 6 cups Rice square cereal Crisp texture is important.
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips Can substitute with milk chocolate if preferred.
  • 1 cup Creamy peanut butter Natural peanut butter may separate.
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Helps with smooth melting.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract Optional, for added dessert flavor.
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar For coating the cereal.
  • 1 pinch Salt Use if peanut butter is unsalted.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Measure the cereal and place it in a large bowl.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter. Microwave in short bursts (20-30 seconds), stirring in between until smooth. Add vanilla and salt.
  3. Pour the chocolate mixture over the cereal and gently fold until most pieces are coated.
  4. Transfer the coated cereal to a zip-top bag or a bowl with a lid. Add powdered sugar, seal, and shake until coated.
  5. Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and let cool for 10-15 minutes.

Notes

Can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week at room temperature. Refrigerate if it's warm or humid.
