Preparation
- Preheat your waffle maker until it's fully hot.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla together.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined; it's okay if there are a few small lumps.
- Fold in the chocolate chips, reserving a small handful for topping the waffles.
Cooking
- Lightly grease your waffle maker if needed, add batter, and close the lid.
- Cook until deeply golden, usually until the steam slows down.
- If making a batch, keep finished waffles warm in a 200°F oven.
Notes
For extra crisp, place waffles on a cooling rack after cooking. Use mini chocolate chips for better distribution. Store in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for 2 months.
