  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded Use rotisserie or leftover baked chicken.
  • 4 cups broccoli florets Fresh or frozen, do not overcook.
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup Or a simple homemade white sauce.
  • 1 cup sour cream or plain Greek yogurt For tang and extra creaminess.
  • 1 cup cheddar or mozzarella cheese, shredded A mix of both can be used.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Adds brightness to the dish.
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder For added flavor.
  • optional buttery breadcrumbs or crushed crackers For topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the broccoli by steaming or blanching it for a few minutes, then drain.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, broccoli, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread it evenly.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.
  6. If using, combine the breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the cheese.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until bubbling around the edges and golden on top.

Notes

For make-ahead prep, you can prepare components in advance or assemble fully and refrigerate overnight. Bake straight from the fridge, adding an extra 10-15 minutes if needed. If freezing, mix chicken and broccoli, then add sauce fresh when baking for better texture.
