Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the broccoli by steaming or blanching it for a few minutes, then drain.
- In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, broccoli, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.
- If using, combine the breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over the cheese.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until bubbling around the edges and golden on top.
Notes
For make-ahead prep, you can prepare components in advance or assemble fully and refrigerate overnight. Bake straight from the fridge, adding an extra 10-15 minutes if needed. If freezing, mix chicken and broccoli, then add sauce fresh when baking for better texture.
